Compare results aren't what I expect
Applies to V02.00.00 and later.
If you find the results of a parameter value compare against default (factory) values or a file are not what you expect there could be a reason for it:
Changes in Connect V2.7.0
The comparison rules were changed in V2.7.0 so that it will now include non-volatile parameters that don't have a default value. Previous versions may not of shown these parameters if the value was zero. This change will mean that the compare against default will likely always show at least one parameter even if the drive is at default values. It is important to include these parameters since if you are setting up another drive to be the same parameters without default values still need to be set correctly.
Connect V2.0.0/2.0.1: When online, compare tool is using the offline (project) values
Note: As of V2.0.2, this has been improved - the application will now upload the parameters from the drive to a temporary file prior to performing the compare.
If you are online and invoke the Compare against defaults command (on the ribbon or context menu in the tree), the values of the OFFLINE drive are compared against defaults not the online values as you might expect.
To do a compare of online values, please upload the values first, either into the project drive or into a file.
