Setting the real-time clock
Applies to V02.10.00 and later.
Some drive types have the ability to have a real-time clock (RTC) by the addition of keypad (e.g. KI-Keypad RTC) or option module that has an on-board RTC. The purpose of a real-time clock is to maintain the correct date/time even if the drive is turned off. Having the correct date/time on a drive can be useful when viewing the trip log for example so you can know exactly when a trip happened, or an Elevator drive could use it to favour returning the elevator to the ground floor between 7am and 9:30am.
To quickly set the RTC on the drive to be the same as the current date/time on your PC use the Set real-time clock command that is on the drive dashboard, ribbon or context menu for the drive.
On a M700 drive, for example, the date and time are in parameters 06.016 and 06.017 respectively and parameter 06.019 selects what those parameters show. This can be:
- Powered - relative date/time on how long the drive has been powered up.
- Running - relative date/time on how long the drive has been in a running/active state.
- Acc Powered - total accumulated powered up time.
- Local keypad - date/time is read from the RTC on a local keypad
- Remote keypad - date/time is read from the RTC on a local keypad
- Slot n - date/time is read from an option module in the given slot
The "Set real-time clock" command is available even if the drive doesn't have a RTC fitted as Connect has no way of determining if an RTC is fitted.
