Connect V02.05.00 Release Notes

Last updated: 30th September 2015

Important Note - Upgrade Problem

Unfortunately, this V2.5.0 release has a problem if you upgrade from previous versions - you would find certain data for Unidrive M drives missing such as images and parameter help. We are working to correct this and issue a new version as soon as possible. In the mean time, if you have installed V2.5.0 then uninstall it and reinstall it. If you've not yet installed V2.5.0 the either wait until we release an updated version, or uninstall the previous version first.

Note about language support

V2.5.0 has introduced partial support for some languages. This is presently limited to menu and parameter names ONLY, and there may be cases where some parameters don't have localised names. The Connect application itself is not yet translated. The 'Change language' dialog box indicates this by saying "This language is used only for parameter data (captions, etc.)". We are working hard to improve the parameter database translations and bring in application UI translations - some of which you will see in V2.6 (French, German, Chinese).

Getting Started - Installation

Install Connect on Microsoft Windows (XP or later) by running the installation program provided. Your computer will need to have Microsoft .Net 4 installed too - in the unlikely event it hasn't the installer will download it from the internet, or you can obtain it directly from here.

Note that installation may take some time, but please be patient - it will get there! Uninstall any previous version first.

What's New in V2?

Version 2 is a major update to Connect containing many updates based on user feedback and testing over the past few months. The new user interface is designed to make it easier to navigate and organise data associated with your Control Techniques' drives. New tools have been added to help organise parameter and macro files and produce reports comparing parameter values against factor defaults or a file. Printing and generating PDFs for comparison reports is also implemented. Support has also been improved for the entire range of Control Techniques' drives.
