Project Overview
A new view has been added that shows the status of all the drives in your project.
It is an online view meaning that it continually monitors connected drives without you having to take each one online.
The things it shows include:
- Drive type, mode, option modules that are fitted and firmware versions.
- Current drive and option module status, e.g. running, tripped
- Mismatches between the actual drive and the project
- Differences of firmware versions
- User program status
The view also offers the ability to:
- Reset all drives or just tripped drives
-
Bulk update the connection settings for all drives in the project - this can be useful when you have multiple drive systems/sections
that are the same or you're connecting to remote drive systems via a VPN/NAT.
Access the project overview by clicking Project Overview on the ribbon or by double-clicking the project node in the project tree.
-
Motor and Position Feedback Setup Tool
The motor and position feedback tools have been combined into one new tool that includes more comprehensive data for CT and Leroy Somer motors and
various feedback devices. When you select a motor that typically comes with a feedback device, that device will be automatically selected.
Additional feedback devices (e.g. reference encoder) can be configured in the new Feedback Setup tool.
-
Drive status in project tree
The project tree now shows the status (healthy, tripped or comms lost) of a drive when it is online.
-
Docking panel improvements
The project tree is now a proper 'docking panel' and may be repositioned in the same manner as the help and properties panels.
The default panel layout has been changed to have all panels (project, help and properties) on the left, so maximising the workspace area.

The four different variants of Connect (Unidrive M, HVAC/R, Powerdrive and Elevator) have now been combined into single application so you can have Unidrive M and Elevator drives in the same project for example.
Note that the default location for storing projects has now changed. Projects saved in the previous default location (which was different for each variant)
will be left where they are so you will need to navigate up and back down into 'Unidrive M Connect', 'Elevator Connect', etc.
The recent project list from all the previous variants will be amalgamated into one list.

Older Versions
Release notes for older versions are available online
Known Issues
- Firmware update over EoE: Connect cannot update firmware when connected to an EtherCAT module via EoE on an IPC. It is possible to update firmware over EoE when connected directly using TwinCAT.
-
Option module parameters appearing red: When you open a project created in a V1.x of Unidrive M Connect you may see option module parameter values appearing in red. This was due to a bug in
older versions of Connect (which has since been fixed). To resolve this upload the values from the drive or default the option modules parameters (by going to the option module dashboard and selecting
'Default Parameters').
- Error '0x80072ee7 - Unspecified error' during installation may happen if .Net Framework 4.0 is not installed and the installer cannot find it to install, or cannot connect to the internet to download it.
